Experience
I served as a Math and Science tutor at UC San Diego OASIS teaching General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for two years. I facilitated 2-hour workshops for 20-30 students to aid their success in the course. I also privately tutored a few students during that time, all of whom received A's in their chemistry course by the end of the quarter. In the past year, I worked as teaching assistant for the UC San Diego division of biological sciences. I led weekly discussion meetings to enhance learning and help students practice applying complex concepts from lecture. I also have experience giving students individual help during weekly office hours. In the summer of 2012, I was a workshop facilitator for the UC San Diego OASIS Summer Bridge Program where I co-instructed 20 incoming freshman in math, science, and writing to aid their transition into college life and academia. I love working with students. My goal is to not only help them grasp complex concepts and master the subject at hand but also develop effective study habits and time management skills so that they could go on to be successful, self-motivated students.

Hobbies
In my spare time, I like to read a book, watch movies or eat out with friends, and shop online but don't actually buy anything. I was on the badminton team and cross country team in high school, but now I just go for an occasional run around the neighborhood. Currently, I am learning to play the piano, interning at Pomerado hospital, and doing breast cancer research in a lab on campus. I will be applying to Medical school either this summer or the summer following.
